CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (“CEMEX”) (NYSE: CX) announced the winners of the latest edition of the CEMEX Building Award, a competition that celebrated its 25th anniversary of recognizing the best architectural and construction projects worldwide.
This year’s CEMEX Building Award received 480 entries in the Mexican Edition and 62 entries in the International Edition, including buildings constructed in 20 different countries: Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, the Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Spain, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
A jury comprised of 15 representatives from the architectural and building industry, scholars, and private organizations from 17 countries evaluated the projects submitted. The jury selected the winning works for their construction process, structural and architectural solutions, integral sustainability, and value creation for users and communities.
“Through the Building Award, CEMEX recognizes the collaboration of clients, contractors, and authorities, who turn ideas into successful and sustainable construction projects,” said Fernando A. Gonzalez, CEO of CEMEX. “During the 25-year history of the Award, CEMEX has witnessed noteworthy improvements in the building industry—from the widespread use of computer systems and innovative materials to the growing awareness of the importance of sustainability in all areas of our life.”
